Could there be a more striking sign of that than the elevation of three of those generals to key positions in the Trump administration?…… In a counterpoint to the relatively limited estimates issued by the Pentagon, the Costs of War Project has, for instance, come up with a comprehensive estimate of what the war on terror has actually cost this country since 2001: $5.6 trillion.
